'Diablo 4' release date: Blizzard Entertainment to reveal launch details at BlizzCon 2016?

(Twitter/Diablo) BlizzCon 2016 may unveil some news about "Diablo 4."

Video game developer Blizzard Entertainment is holding one of its biggest events in November, BlizzCon 2016. Rumor has it that the much awaited "Diablo 4" will be unveiled in the said event.

According to reports, fans of the "Diablo" game franchise may finally be able to learn more about "Diablo 4" in the upcoming annual event.

After Josh Mosqueira left the company as "Diablo's" game director, it was reported that Blizzard Entertainment started looking for a game director for an unannounced project. Although it did not specify what the project was, the subheading of the job post had "Diablo" in it. It was then speculated that the project was "Diablo 4."

Excitement for the upcoming BlizzCon 2016 was bolstered when Diablo's official Twitter responded to a tweet from one of its fans. The Diablo account said that "BlizzCon will be really cool this year." While a lot of fans believed that something big is going to be unveiled at the event, many are hoping that it would be "Diablo 4."

However, there are other speculations that the unannounced project was referring to a "Diablo 3" expansion pack or a "Diablo 2" remake. Plus, the possibility of a fourth installment of the game may no longer happen, or it could happen sometime in the future.

Apparently, there are those who are hoping that if a fourth installment of "Diablo" is still a no go, at least Blizzard will announce something "Diablo" related. Since the third title of the game was received positively since its release, it is possible that the video game developer is planning on releasing another downloadable content for it. Instead of creating a whole new installment, Blizzard can still keep the game relevant by adding new features and a new storyline.

The highly anticipated BlizzCon 2016 starts on Nov. 4 in California.
