Drake 'Views From The 6' news: Upcoming album arrives April 2016 with a new and balanced sound

Drake's upcoming album "Views From The 6" has finally landed a release date. Drake made the announcement during the OVO Sound radio show last Jan. 31. He revealed that the album would be released in April 2016. Along with the release date confirmation, Drake also released his newest single "Summer Sixteen."
"Views From the 6" was initially teased to be released last Jan. 6 or Jan. 16. Fans couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed when the album wasn't released on either date. Now that a release date has been announced, fans are now looking forward to learning more about the upcoming album and its sound.
"Views From the 6" follows "What a Time to be Alive," an mixtape that Drake released last September 2015.
Drake previously revealed that "Views From the 6" would pay homage to his hometown Toronto. After spending the past few years touring and living in L.A., the rapper decided to come home and reconnect with long-time collaborator and producer Noah "40" Shebib.
According to Shebib, "Views From the 6" is close to being completed. Shebib also provided hints about the upcoming album.
"For us, it's just a balance of finding that space to make such a project that's based around our city. And then also coming out here to the West Coast to escape some of the harsh winter and find a good creative space. It has to be a balance of both those locations for what it's supposed to be," said Shebib.
"Views From the 6" will also come with a new sound - something unlike what listeners have been hearing on the radio these days.
"I'm not listening to what's hitting the radio, what people are dropping. I'm trying to almost stay away from that stuff to focus on something different," the producer added.
"Views From the 6" is rumored to drop on April 16, 2016 – a date that mirrors 416, Drake's Toronto area code.
