'Evil Dead' TV series confirmed for 2015: Bruce Campbell reprising role in 10-episode 'Ash v. Evil Dead'

Sam Raimi's 'Evil Dead' will soon be adapted to the small screen, with Starz planning to produce a 10-episode TV series of the mega hit cult classic movie franchise.
It is said that the television adaptation will explore Ash's storyline, with the working title, 'Ash v. Evil Dead.' Bruce Campbell will star in the series, reprising his role as Ash, the man who has incessantly hunted monsters for 30 long years.
Evil Dead's premise is about a plague called "Deadite" that is threatening to destroy mankind, and Ash takes on the responsibility to try and stop it, not for the people, but for his personal gains.
Starz and Raimi's first collaboration was 'Spartacus,' as revealed by its Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik. According to a report by Variety, Zlotnik said that the studio is "thrilled" to have Raimi back in the director's chair, especially for such an exciting project.
"With Sam writing and directing and Bruce Campbell returning to the screen, we are certain the show will give 'Evil Dead' fans around the world the fix they've been craving," Zlotnik said.
Raimi says that he is excited to bring Evil Dead to a worldwide platform, and that a TV series is exactly what the franchise needs to do so.
"Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash's lame, but heroic saga," the director shared in the same interview.
