There are rumors that say the problems encountered while filming "Fifty Shades Darker" are the cause of the movie's delay. One of those major problems is supposedly the lack of chemistry between the lead stars, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively.

The movie is scheduled to be released in February next year, but with the stars having a difficult time channeling the needed chemistry for the film, many doubt it would happen.

The culprit for this lack of chemistry all points to the fact that Dornan can't seem to focus because all he can reportedly think about is his newborn baby. Dornan just had his second child with Amelia Warner.

This is reportedly bad news since they have already received a Razzie Award  as the Worst Onscreen Couple. On the other hand, MTV awarded them the Best Kiss Award and Breakthrough Performance Award for Johnson.

Despite the rumors, Bella Heathcoate, who will be joining the film as Leila Williams, Grey's psychotic ex-lover, defended the couple, saying that the lack of chemistry are just rumors. She also added that the atmosphere is relaxed and healthy and that she enjoys being part of the film.

She told Hollywood Reporter, "I was worried because it's coming into something that's already established like feeling like the new kid at school, but everyone was really lovely and really welcoming and hilarious. It's a really good vibe on set, which I didn't expect."

Meanwhile, "Fifty Shades Darker" screenwriter and E.L. James' husband, Niall Leonard, laughingly told the Guardian that there is no such thing as the "red room of pain" in their house. This was in reference to questions and speculations that James may have had experience with BDSM since she graphically wrote about it in her trilogy.

Leonard also denied that they were now adhering to a luxurious lifestyle due to the royalties they got from the book. He said that they still live in the same house, doing the same things, and facing the same challenges like before.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is the second book in the trilogy and followed by "Fifty Shades Freed" which is set to be released in 2018.
