'Five Nights at Freddy's' movie update: Film adaptation not canceled

(Facebook/Five Nights at Freddy's)The movie adaptation of the game "Five Nights at Freddy's" will push through.

Fans of the hit "Five Nights at Freddy's" video game franchise are confused whether the film adaptation of the horror game is still on or not. This is after Kotaku writer Nathan Grayson released an article that he is "not making the 'Five Nights at Freddy's' movie."

According to Grayson, he has been receiving heaps of email about the upcoming film adaptation and inquiries regarding the casting details from fans. He is, however, setting the record straight, that he is not in any way involved in the making of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" film and that he is a writer by profession. He was attached to the movie by some fans after reporting about the film adaptation on Kotaku.

However, his article was misunderstood by many and was interpreted by others that the movie plans were canceled. Grayson stated: "I wrote the post in April of 2015. I continued to receive emails well into December of that year. At first I thought maybe this was a mass effort to troll me, but the emails just kept trickling in, month after month. And if there's one thing I know about trolls, it's that their attention spans are not exactly built to last."

Fans who are waiting patiently for the animated film to release should not worry, though. According to reports, game creator Scott Cawthon, who is also very much involved with the film adaptation, has confirmed that there is no truth to the cancellation and that it is still happening. The reason why they haven't updated the fans about it is because they are busy working on it and putting the script together.

On top of that, Cawthon is also busy with the upcoming launch of the newest installment of the game, titled "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location."

The "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie is expected to come out on June 8, 2018.
