"Frozen" was undoubtedly a box-office success raking in $1.2 billion. Anna and Elsa entered the imaginations and homes of millions of children world-wide. Children donned Elsa's regal blue dress to parties while the hit song "Let It Go" was hummed in every corner of the world. The movie did well not just at the box office, but also garnered critical acclaim by winning two Oscar awards in 2014.

The Blade reports that at a recent shareholders event, Walt Disney Animation Studios agreed to make a sequel of its blockbuster animation film "Frozen". The move breaks tradition as Disney Animation never makes sequels of its hit movies. In fact, Disney is known to concentrate its energies on creating new characters rather than in making sequels. Pixar, its sister company, has always been tasked with creating sequels and has been successful in doing so.

The Telegraph provides more information and speculations for "Frozen 2". Actress Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will reprise their roles as Anna and Elsa. Bell confirmed this news by posting a tweet with a picture of her resting her head on an ice bag. The image was captioned, "Dream really do come 2!!! #FROZEN2 #itsofficial".

Jennifer Lee, who directed the first one, will again take the seat for the second movie. Fan-favorite Olaf is back and Elsa is set to don a new dress. Speculations indicate that Anna and Elsa will sing a duet in the upcoming movie which will be a successor to "Let It Go". Some websites are predicting that Elsa may die, but it seems highly unlikely, since her death will inhibit sales of profit-churning merchandise and break the hearts of millions of children. Olaf will most likely get a girlfriend.

The sequel won't be releasing before 2018 as Disney has a roster of movies set to release until then. However, fans needn't wait that long to get their regular fix of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf. "Frozen Fever" is a short animated movie premiering with Disney's live-action film "Cinderella". The short movie will feature adorable small snowmen along with cuddly Olaf.
