There is no denying that Disney's "Frozen" is the stand-out hit of 2014. The animated movie has earned more than a billion dollars and has since secured its place in the top highest grossing films of all-time. Unsurprisingly, earlier this year, Disney confirmed that a sequel for their smash hit has been ordered and its production is already in development.

While the confirmation is definitely welcome news, fans, however, are daunted to find out that the earliest possible release for "Frozen 2" is in 2018. Disney quickly assured them that the project they are working on is definitely worth the long wait.

In an interview with Robert Iger, Disney's CEO, he revealed the reason why Disney chose to take its time in developing the sequel for "Frozen." He explained how the success of the original "Frozen" is a measure as to how the sequel would be received and as such, the company is aiming to make the best feature it can, however long it takes.

"We're not demanding speed, We're demanding excellence," said Iger.

Since news about the sequel were confirmed, fans from all over the Internet have chimed in on what they think "Frozen 2" would be about. Disney is notorious for keeping most details of their projects a secret, however, this hasn't stopped audiences from concocting their very interesting "Frozen 2" theories.

One interesting rumor claims that the upcoming movie might focus on Elsa and her seemingly random powers. According to the speculation, audiences would find out why she can control ice and when she developed it.

Still, others say that Elsa might finally find her true love in the second installment of the franchise. They are fervently hoping that "Frozen 2" might actually see an iconic Disney trope — the true love's kiss.

"Frozen 2" is scheduled to premiere on Nov.21, 2018.
