'Frozen 2' rumor: Sequel will heavily feature young Elsa?

(Disney)

Disney says they are not in a hurry to release "Frozen 2," but at least fans can now be sure that the sequel is coming. With the film still a long way off, details have been very scant, to, with just a few little tidbits being dropped along the way. The biggest tidbit will have to be about how Queen Elsa's character is going to change a lot in the upcoming movie.

Moviepilot rounded up what is that everybody knows about "Frozen 2" already. There definitely is no script yet underway and the whole story is obviously not yet well-planned. But co-creator and director Chris Buck says they already have a concept in mind and predicts the ending will be terrific. Hints from Buck also say everyone will be seeing a different side to Queen Elsa.

In a previous article, it was mentioned that the director said Elsa's journey in "Frozen" had been very dramatic but the ending opens her to possibilities of being more open and, as her song suggests, letting go. The 2015 short film, "Frozen Fever" has even started exploring that fun side to the Ice Queen.

An interesting find in the same article also seem to suggest that viewers will be seeing more of the young Elsa in "Frozen 2." But it was a brief mention and no supporting details yet from any of the producers or writers so this should still be taken with a grain of salt.

Moviepilot has also suggested about getting more sisterly love - complete with the bantering and bickering typical of sisters - in the next movie. They say that Buck and the writers seem to be thinking along those lines, too. On top of this, writers seem to be inching towards more societal issues in the sequel.

"We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with. I think we're very aware of what is happening in society," quotes the website.

"Frozen 2" is expected for release some time in 2018.
