'Game of Thrones': Season 5 finale raises questions about Jon Snow's fate

On the fifth season finale of "Game of Thrones," a popular character, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, met his end. His death was a shock to those who have only watched the TV series and have not read the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire," on which the show is based.
As the character who is a member of the Night's Watch and who has been betrayed by his own men and Steward Olly (Brenock O'Connor), theories about who his real parents are and whether or not he was the hero immediately began emerging on the Internet.
Many fans started speculating on various social media sites and discussing Snow's fate, including if he was going to be raised from the dead. While some viewers believe that Melisandre (Carice van Houten) being back at Castle Black means she would bring him back from the dead, Harington himself revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he would not be returning to the show to play the character. In addition, Dan Weiss, a producer on the show, stated that as far as Snow's character is concerned, "Dead is dead."
However, book readers and viewers of the show who have read Harington and Weiss' interviews refuse to believe them. They pointed out that if Harington is part of the series' sixth season he will have to lie to pretend that his character is dead. Others, on the other hand, think that a different actor would be playing Snow after he is brought back to life.
These theories about Snow's fate have gained momentum, since George R. R. Martin's released the fifth and the latest book in the series titled "A Dance with Dragons". In it, Snow was stabbed in the same way he was killed in the series, and with little to no information known about his character, viewers and readers alike continue to speculate that he could either be resurrected after Warging into his wolf Ghost or be turned into a White Walker or Wight and join the army of the undead.
As book readers and TV viewers eagerly wait for answers, it is expected that discussions about Snow's fate will continue to persist until Martin reveals his true fate in his sixth book, "Winds of Winter" or until the premiere of GoT's sixth season.
