'Game Of Thrones' season 6 casting news: new cast members Max von Sydow and Ian McShane join show

While "Game Of Thrones" fans are still hotly debating on whether Jon Snow is dead, the show has added two experienced actors to its ever-burgeoning cast. Legendary actor and silver-screen veteran, Max von Sydow, will appear in the upcoming season six, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Von Sydow is joining the fantasy series as the human form of the Three-Eyed Raven, Bran Stark's mystical tutor, who was last seen in season four's finale. Sydow's myriad on-screen credits include "Minority Report" and "The Exorcist."
Apart from Sydow, "Deadwood" star, Ian McShane, is also joining the hit fantasy series in an unknown role. However, both McShane and Sydow will share limited screen time but will have crucial roles. Sydow has already started filming for the HBO series. Production of "Game Of Thrones" season six is underway as the series started filming at the end of July.
Of course, if Sydow is playing the Three-Eyed Raven, it means that Bran Stark will be back. The character was absent for season five that recently wrapped up in June. However, the teenaged Stark will be back on the show in season six.
Actor Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays the role of the Stark child, confirmed his presence to the Irish Examiner. "I can't say a lot but I am back this season, and it's going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions," the actor teased.
Meanwhile, President of HBO's programming, Michael Lombardo, addressed the lifespan of George RR Martin's show at the Television Critics Association press tour.
"(The producers are) feeling like there's probably two more years after six" he said, reports TVLine. Which means there are two more seasons of "Game Of Thrones" before it meets its end in season eight.
The HBO president also confirmed Jon Snow is dead despite the fact that actor Kit Harrington was spotted filming on set in Ireland.
"Game Of Thrones" season six will air in April 2016.
