'Game of Thrones' season 7 plot rumors, air date: Will Euron Greyjoy claim one of the dragons?

(Facebook/GameofThrones)"Game of Thrones" will premiere in summer 2017.

As with many popular shows, fans have begun to speculate what will happen in the seventh season of "Game of Thrones." The stakes are higher and the enemies greater, but one question remains: Who will be the third dragonrider?

Emilia Clarke's Daenerys Targaryen has three dragons: Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal. And according to iDigitalTimes, there should be three dragonriders to go along with them. As she has done in the past, Daenerys will likely ride Drogon, especially since he is the biggest of the trio. But what about the other two?

The same publication points out that Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, will be the second dragonrider. The previous season finale confirmed the long-running theory that Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, which makes him related to Daenerys. This means that Jon is destined to tame dragons, much like the Mother of Dragons herself. Jon will have the capability to ride the second dragon, Rhaegal or Viserion, and join Daenerys' side.

It is already known that Jon and Daenerys will finally meet in the upcoming season, as Clarke and Harington have been spotted filming scenes together. And much to fans' delight, it has been said that the two of them will get together by the end of season 7 — despite being related.

However, the third dragonrider's identity is yet unknown. iDigitalTimes explains that the self-proclaimed Targaryen, Aegon VI, does not appear on the show even though he's in the books. And the media outlet posits that Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) could be the third rider since he has a dragonbinder horn. Moreover, Euron is hungry for power and he is extremely capable of stealing one of Daenerys' dragons for his own intentions.

On the other hand, a supposed leak claims that the third dragon, Viserion, will die in the battle against the White Walkers and their army of Wights. But the Night's King will apparently resurrect the beast, and Viserion will become the highly rumored ice dragon who will help the White Walkers bring the wall down. If this is true, then perhaps only two dragonriders are needed in the end.

Since nothing has been confirmed, though, fans should take this news with a grain of salt.
