'Ghostbusters' news: Director shows off new uniform on Twitter, design is more practical and safety-friendly

Original Ghostbusters Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis sporting their iconic coveralls

Everyone knows that the "Ghostbusters" can handle any ghoulies, ghosties, long-leggedy beasties and things that go bump in the night. But now it appears that they can do so while still being fashionable.

The all-female remake of "Ghostbusters" is currently in full swing and fans have been waiting for news on what the phantasmic new team will look like.

"Ghostbusters" director Paul Feig was nice enough to accommodate fans and drum up buzz for the highly-anticipated movie at the same time by tweeting a photo that shows four boiler suits hanging from a rail.

The famous red and white "Ghostbuster" logo can be seen clearly. The outfits pay homage to the original grey coveralls without totally recycling the look. The new uniform also appears to be more practical than the first with its cargo pants pocket and orange stripes that are both highly visible and safety-friendly. The high boots that come with it are pretty functional too and are perfect for kicking down doors to get to ghosts.

The film utilized the services of concept artist Keith Christensen and costumer Krista Guggia, both veterans of sci-fi and superhero movies.

The new uniform has gotten positive feedback from fans and fashion experts alike who are happy that the movie has remained true to its roots and has not given in to the temptation of sexing up the coveralls for the actresses.

But that was not Feig's only surprise for the day. A few hours after later, he also posted a photo of the iconic proton pack, a piece of equipment that no self-respecting "Ghostbuster" would forget to bring.

No specific plot has been released but the new "Ghostbusters" movie will still follow four scientists who embark on a ghost-hunting business. Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Melissa McCarthy will step into the boots that Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and the late great Harold Ramis walked in.
