Many fans were overcome with excitement when it was announced that a "Gilmore Girls" revival was in the works. Titled, "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," the revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes and will only be brought back for a limited run.

So, what can fans expect from the revival?

The episodes will be seasonally titled, starting with "Winter" and ending with "Fall." Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Dan Palladino wrote all four episodes, with each one directing two. The story will be set in present time, which means eight years have more or less passed.

With so much time having passed, one would expect Luke (Scott Patterson) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) to have tied the knot. However, it has been revealed that the two are still not married. Fans should rest assured, though, that the couple are still together and have not called it quits. 

"We are together and we're sort of figuring out our next step," Scott Patterson told PEOPLE. When asked about the rumor that a character may be pregnant in the revival, the actor did not reveal or hint at any detail.

Sherman-Palladino told TVLine in February that the new installment will definitely tackle some things that happened in the show's seventh season. "We weren't going to take something and do it even though Season 7 negated it. That wasn't going to happen. I wasn't going to say to the fans who stayed through Season 7, 'Hey, you all wasted your f—ing time for a whole season. So, ignore all that!' We had to pick them up where they left off," she said.

Fans are going to get to see their favorite characters as well since it has been confirmed that a lot of the show's original cast members will be returning, including Melissa McCarthy. That's not to say that there won't be any new faces, though. Fans will also get to see Sutton Foster and Stacey Oristano as new characters.

All four episodes of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" will be released on Nov. 25 on Netflix.
