'God of War 4' to deliver previous 'God of War' vibes despite Kratos doing penance for past wrongdoings

(Facebook/God of War)"God of War 4" will be about Kratos' self-redemption.

After it was revealed at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that a fourth "God of War" game is soon to be released, some fans of the game can only wonder how different Kratos will be from the previous "God of War" games, much more that he is already a father in the upcoming game. However, it has been learned that while "God of War 4" will be about Kratos' self-redemption, it will still provide the gamers with the feel evoked by its predecessors.

As already seen in the released gameplay of "God of War 4," Kratos is living a quiet life in Norse lands along with his son, whose name is yet to be revealed. According to reports, Sony Interactive Entertainment creative director Cory Balrog said at the E3 that Kratos' act of mentoring his son is an act of penance for his past wrongdoings. The director has also disclosed that Kratos' son is aware of his father's demigod status but doesn't have the slightest idea of how brutal he was in the past.

Balrog also revealed in an interview with The Know that Kratos' wife will have a vital role in the game's story, but details to which have been withheld. Nonetheless, it can be presumed that the upcoming "God of War" game will showcase more of father-and-son moments as it follows Kratos and his son's adventures in the Norse land.

However, Kratos' son will not just serve as an element to Kratos' fatherhood in the game's story; in fact, he will be pretty much part of the game as "God of War 4" has created a special button for him so that he can be used in puzzle solving, overall interactions, and even in combats.

Despite "God of War 4" being apparently about Kratos' quest to redeem himself, Balrog stresses that it is guaranteed to deliver the feel of the previous "God of War" games. Gaming Bolt opines that while the upcoming game is poised to start with a clean slate, it seems like it is going to carry on much of the spirit of the original game that first came out in 2005.

While "God of War 4's" released date is yet to be announced, a posting on Amazon has listed the game to be released for the PlayStation 4 on Dec. 29, 2017 and will carry a $59.99 price tag.
