"Gotham" aired a bone-chilling episode last week as viewers saw the Ogre seduce Gordon's estranged fiancée, Barbara. As the story of the super-villain continues, fans must brace themselves for a promising season finale.

In the show's penultimate episode, titled "The Anvil Or The Hammer", Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock will go to great lengths to track the Ogre. TVGuide's official synopsis also details that the Ogre will finally manage to break down Barbara's emotions. However, Gordon will have more than the Ogre to worry about because Penguin leads a massacre which angers him. The killings kick-starts an epic war.

Meanwhile, Nygma deals with his recent actions while Master Bruce will learn the truth about Wayne Enterprises. TVLine spoke to showrunner Bruno Heller who revealed that this episode will be the end of the Ogre story. But things don't seem great for Bruce who will find out something about his family. Heller said, "The things that he (Bruce) finds out about his family and what's going on inside Wayne Enterprises really changes his mind about where he's going and what he's doing in the world." Heller also confirmed that the family business is involved in something insidious.

Meanwhile, the Penguin massacre should be expected by fans since Gordon owes him a favor for help on Loeb. Actor Ben McKenzie, who essays the role of Jim Gordon, told TVGuide that, "The bonds that bind them will never fully be severed," referring to Gordon and Penguin's relationship, "They are in bed together for better or worse."

The season's finale episode named "All Happy Families Are Alike" will see several storylines come together. This includes a revelation for Bruce, something terrifying for Leslie Thompkins and the birth of the Riddler. Nygma's alter ego will finally surface and set the stage for season two.

Episode 21 of "Gotham" airs on Monday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
