'Gotham' season 2 spoilers: Bruce Wayne discovers who killed his parents; Paul Reubens to star as Penguin's father

The second half of "Gotham's" second season will reportedly not disappoint fans. And it seems those reports are true as Bruce Wayne will allegedly learn the truth about his parents' killers and fans introduced to Penguin's father.

A TV Guide preview reported that the young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will finally find out who killed his parents. It wasn't revealed how Bruce will come by this information or what he plans to do with it, but there's a big chance that this isn't something he will just let go.

The same apparently holds true for Det. Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) as well. In the midseason premiere, Gordon was seen executing Theo Galavan (James Frain) in cold blood. While he did it to ensure that the villain won't terrorize Gotham anymore, it's not something that rests easily on his conscience.

According to "Gotham's" executive producer Bruno Heller, Gordon has now "stepped over that moral line" and that he'll be paying for that mistake when the season resumes.

Fans definitely enjoyed the alliance that Gordon and Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) had in the midseason finale. But now it seems all bets are off and Gordon has to look out for and the Penguin's return to the head of Gotham's criminal elements.

But Cobblepot also has his own demons to deal with as it has been teased that his father will be returning to the city. What's more, Oswald's father will be played by Paul Reubens! Interestingly enough, the actor had already played the character in "Batman Returns." Fans will recall that in the movie, Mr. Cobblepot never accepted his deformed son and even pushed the baby's stroller into the river.

It goes without saying that this didn't sit well with Oswald, so it's unlikely that Mr. Cobblepot's return would end in a happy reunion.

Fans got a glimpse of Penguin's father in a photo tweeted by showrunner Danny Cannon. The tweet is simply captioned "sleepwalker" and shows Reubens wearing what appears to be an old-fashioned men's sleepwear. He's holding a candle and does appear to still be asleep, or at least unaware of what he's doing. But what role he'll play in the latter part of the season remains unknown.

The second season of "Gotham" will resume on Fox on Feb. 29.
