To say fans of "Grey's Anatomy" had a roller-coaster ride in season 11 would be a huge understatement. The death of April and Jackson's baby, Dr. Herman's risky surgery, and Derek's untimely demise were nothing short of tear-jerkers and jaw-dropping shocks for seasoned viewers of the hit ABC medical drama.

After Derek Shepherd's death, it seems highly unlikely that showrunner Shonda Rhimes can cook up another shocker for fans. However, the teaser trailer promises a shocking twist for doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial hospital. The official episode's synopsis by TVGuide and the promotional trailer indicate that the doctors will be dealing with the aftermath of a disaster, which was most likely seen in last week's episode when a crushed vehicle was brought closer to the hospital. A tunnel collapses and crushes all the cars inside,  with a man trapped in one of the vehicles. April brings the crushed vehicle closer to the hospital in order to give the patient a fighting chance for survival.

Speculations suggest that season 11's finale episode will revolve around the doctors working together to save the victim trapped inside the crushed vehicle. Amelia and Meredith will be forced to put aside their differences and save the man. Can they do it? In episode 24, Amelia teared up and blamed Meredith for pulling the plug before she could say goodbye to her brother.

Meanwhile, Design & Trend reports that following last week's time jump, Meredith and Alex could wind up together. That is completely plausible since Alex has been trying to be Meredith's person after Christian Yang's character exited the show.

Anything is possible in "Grey's Anatomy". Shonda Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly that, "Now, Meredith and the entire Grey's Anatomy family are about to enter uncharted territory as we head into this new chapter of her life."
