A sibling rivalry and a second chance at love might be two themes that fans can look forward to when "Grey's Anatomy" returns for a 13th season.

Love was in the air during the show's season 12 finale as Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) finally tied the knot. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) also seemed to be warming up to the idea of her and Nathan (Martin Henderson), particularly after their little tryst. So it was a shock when her younger sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary) admitted to her that she has a crush on Nathan and thinks that the newcomer might be feeling the same way, too.

While no one knows about Meredith hooking up with Riggs, it's only a matter of time before it's revealed. After all, there are no secrets when it comes to relationships in Grey Sloan Memorial. The situation might have all the makings of an epic sibling rivalry, but Scorsone doubts that the sisters will really duke it out over a guy.

"It's possible that they'll both try and accommodate one another," Scorsone told EW. "I'm sure Amelia will do whatever she can do to ease anyone's pain in that family."

As for McCreary, she believes that when her character finds out about the love triangle she's involved in, she will be "genuinely crushed." The actress also hinted to TV Line that Maggie might fight Meredith for Nathan.

"I guess the question is, does she value her relationship with Meredith more than she values her desire to find love," said McCreary.

While the Grey sisters might be headed toward tempestuous times in season 13, April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) might be headed in the opposite direction. The couple was able to find some common ground between them in the midst of finalizing their divorce last season. They also welcomed their first child so it's possible that a reconciliation is in the cards. Or as Drew told etalk, they might "just learn how to co-parent in a really beautiful way."

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will be returning to ABC on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.
