The long wait will soon be over for fans of "Grimm" now that the NBC series is already scheduled to return for its sixth season run on Oct. 28. Exciting as this news may be for the fans of the show, there is a possibility, though, that this upcoming season of "Grimm" will be its last.

In an interview with TV Insider, David Giuntoli, who plays the role of Nick Burkhardt on "Grimm," revealed that it is still unclear as to how many episodes "Grimm" will offer for its season 6 run. Although they are expecting to deliver 13 episodes, there is also a possibility for them to come up as many as 18 episodes for the series. Nonetheless, for him, the forthcoming season 6 might already be the end of "Grimm's" tales, or, at least, the beginning of its end.

"I would imagine this will be our last season. In network TV, six seasons seems to be what hit shows generally run. We've also heard we might do two more shortened seasons. But either way, we're getting to the end. Nothing lasts forever. But here's the exciting thing about that: Our writers will be able to give us a really cool ending. We have time to wrap it up in a wonderful, perfect way, for all of our characters. We will go out big and we will go out strong," disclosed Giuntoli.

Whether "Grimm" season 6 will be the series' swan song or not, fans can expect that it will continue to offer the kind of entertainment that it delivers to its viewers. One thing that avid viewers of the show can look forward to once "Grimm" returns for its next season is the highlighting of its new villain, Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz).

In an interview with TV Line, Roiz said that his role as Sean Renard is someone who is never satisfied with one achievement. Even if he emerges as the victor in Oregon City's mayoralty bid, he will continue to look for another one that will top his current laurel. According to "Grimm" executive producer James Kouf, Sean Renard is someone who goes where power is available.

Will Sean Renard succeed in securing the mayor's post in the upcoming elections? How would he challenge Nick's existence?  Answers can only be revealed when "Grimm" returns to NBC this Oct. 28.
