'Grimm' season 6 spoilers, cast news: Chris McKenna joins; Renard to turn darker

(Facebook/NBCGrimm)"Grimm" season 6 will see a darker Renard and a new face in the Portland Police Department.

"Grimm" season 6 has added a new face to the mix. Chris McKenna, who is known for appearing in shows such as "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "The Bold and the Beautiful," has been tapped to play Lt. Grossante, a strong new cop in the Portland Police Department.

McKenna took to his Twitter handle to share the exciting news. It is unknown exactly how many episodes the character will appear in, but it is believed that he will be in at least one episode of the upcoming season. It is likely that he will be in more, though.

But what can fans expect from the new season, story-wise? While appearing at the San Diego Comic-Con, the cast dished to Entertainment Weekly that Renard (Sasha Roiz) will turn dark in season 6. Additionally, Renard and Nick will still be at odds.

"We've read the first three scripts [of season 6]. We're not friends in the first three scripts," star David Giuntoli revealed.

And while characters have their own respective dark sides, Renard's is especially different in terms of how serious it is. The character is an outcast at this point and it remains to be seen how far the darkness will consume him.

Aside from that, fans rejoiced when it was revealed that Rosalee (Bree Turner) was pregnant with Monroe's child. While speaking with TVLine, the cast did not reveal whether Rosalee would still remain pregnant or if a baby would be born in the next season. So far, however, Rosalee is just pregnant, Turner says, since the premiere episode picks up right from where the previous season left off.

Giuntoli is also set to direct the third episode of the new season. It was revealed that Giuntoli's character was written out in "a sassy way" in that episode since he is set to be behind the camera.

"Grimm" season 6 does not have a premiere date yet and it is unknown whether it will consist of 13 episodes or more.
