Good news for "Guardians of the Galaxy" fans, as director James Gunn just recently revealed some minor but very interesting details about the highly-anticipated movie.

A lot of fans have been wondering how the sequel for "Guardians of the Galaxy" will turn out. Luckily, GotG's James Gunn has announced a few details about what to expect from the franchise. While talking to Collider during the 41st annual Saturn Award, Gunn shared "I think it's a more emotional movie. It's both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we focus more intensely on some of the characters."

Aside from the drama, "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," fans will also get to learn more about Marvel's greater mythology. "We get to learn a lot about fathers in the second movie," said Gunn.

In the first film, it was revealed that the only person among the group that can actually hold the infinity gem or stone without exploding into atoms is Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) aka "Star Lord." His parents or his bloodline, however, was not explained in the movie.

And while Pratt's character in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" remains to be the major character of the film, Variety reports that a few other characters' lineage will also take center stage.

Also, who would forget about Peter Quill's awesome mix tape in the first movie, titled "Peter Quill's Awesome Mix Vol.1"? Fans were so impressed with Star Lord's taste or rather Star Lord's mom's taste in music that Gunn has confirmed that there will be a second awesome mix that fans can watch out for in the sequel. "We haven't listened to 'Awesome Mix 2,' yet, so we get to hear it in the sequel," Gunn said.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is set for a 2017 release.
