French actress Pom Klementieff has recently been reported to join the cast of the much awaited sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." As for her role though, sadly nothing much has been confirmed but speculations have suggested that she will probably take the role of Mantis.

Deadline first dropped the news that "Oldboy" actress Pom Klementieff are now included in the cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Furthermore, the source also speculated that she will be playing the character called Mantis, the half-Vietnamese half-German martial arts expert who also has psychic powers.

In addition to her psychic abilities which she uses to pinpoint the weak spot of her enemies, Screenrant mentioned that Mantis also has the ability to briefly see the coming future.

Furthermore, the Deadline has added that Mantis has ties with both the Kree race and Thanos. The latter, which of course has already been shown in the first film, could be the possible reason why Klementieff will assume the role. However, as for the Kree race connection, the "Inhumans" are just down the line on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's phase 3. It's about time the MCU includes a connection to the future film like what "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has been doing the past few seasons.

However, one commenter on the report from Screenrant has come up with another theory as for her character and it might be Drax's daughter Moondragon.

Since Marvel did not drop any hints for her character in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," it's best for fans to just keep an open mind for now and wait for further updates either from the production or from film director James Gunn. Moreover, Klementieff playing as Mantis, according to Screenrant, the rumor circulating it arguably plausible but sadly, all the fans can do now is to hope for the best.
