Fans of the original "Heroes" series have reason to smile and even celebrate. Their fan-favorite Hiro Nakamura, played by Masi Oka, will be back on "Heroes Reborn", according to TVLine. The new show is a reboot of the old series that also starred Masi Oka. Oka's character was immensely popular in the original series, so fans have one more reason to watch the rebooted show.

Oka expressed his excitement in being a part of the series, produced by Tim Kring. He said, "I'm excited to return to my Heroes roots. Hiro Nakamura was such an inspirational role to play, and I'm hoping the fans will enjoy seeing him back on TV."

Kring also expressed his happiness at brining on the Japanese-American actor, saying, "We are thrilled to have Masi back in the Heroes family. The character of Hiro Nakamura was such a huge part of the first series' success, and a gigantic fan favorite. We felt the fans would really love seeing him back in action again."

The series reboot's first season will mirror the story of the first season of "Heroes" where ordinary people wake up to the fact that they have extraordinary abilities. The plot details are highly guarded by both cast members and the show's production team. So far, only a short teaser trailer has been released which provides little information on the show.

"Heroes Reborn" will also see "Heroes" actor Jack Coleman playing Noah Bennett, a horn-rimmed spectacled man who played a central role in the series. Oka's Hiro can jump through space and time. Other cast members joining the series, as per Christian Examiner, are Zachary Levi, Ryan Guzman, Robbie Kay, Gatlin Green, Judith Shekoni, Danika Yarosh, Kiki Sukezane, and Henry Zebrowski.

The first 13 episodes of "Heroes Reborn" are slated to premier this fall on NBC.
