'Heroes Reborn' news: cast line-up gets new additions Dylan Bruce, Greg Grunberg and Jimmy Jean-Louis; premieres Thursday this fall

(NBC)A scene from episode 1 of "Heroes Reborn" named "Awakening" shows actor Zachery Levi as Luke Collins.

NBC's revival series "Heroes Reborn" is certainly shaping up to be one of the most anticipated TV shows this year. The rebooted version of "Heroes" has an exciting cast, with some fresh and new faces, as well as original actors making appearances.

"Orphan Black" star Dylan Bruce, who played Paul, Sarah Manning's lover on the show, will join the cast of "Heroes Reborn", reports Deadline. His character's death on the show could not be better timed, since he can now focus on his acting skills in the superhero series. Details of his character are being kept under wraps, but he is certainly a welcome addition to the talented roster of actors appearing on the show.

"Heroes Reborn" has also roped in an original cast member from its 2006 series. Entertainment Weekly reports that actor Greg Grunberg will return in a guest role on the show. Grunberg essayed the role of telepathic detective, Matt Parkman. But Grunberg isn't the only "Heroes" alumni to join the cast. As previously announced by NBC, Jack Coleman will be back as the mysterious Noah Bennet, while Masi Oka reprises his role as the fan-favorite Hiro Nakamura.

Another key player from the "Heroes" universe has been added to the revival series cast. TVLine reports that the mind-erasing Haitian will also be joining Masi Oka and Jack Coleman from the original series. Three great actors from the original show are enough reasons for fans of "Heroes" to tune in to "Heroes Reborn".

The fresh faces, apart from Dylan Bruce, include Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Ryan Guzman, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Francesca Eastwood. While most actors' roles have not yet been revealed, what is known is that Vince plays an unassuming but persuasive guy, while Eastwood portrays a manipulative young woman, reports another TVLine article.

"Heroes Reborn" depicts the story of a fresh crop of inspiring heroes who wake up to the fact that they have extraordinary abilities. They must protect themselves from people who harbor motives to hunt and harness their powers.

The show premieres this fall on Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.
