'Homeland' season 6 spoilers: Saul wants Carrie back in the CIA

(Facebook/HomelandonShowtime)Saul wants Carrie back in "Homeland" season 6.

Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul's (Mandy Patinkin) relationship will continue to be tested in the upcoming season of "Homeland." Will he finally convince her to return to the CIA?

As per Inquisitr, the Langley man has not yet given up his hopes to see Carrie back in the fold. After what took place last installment, it is just natural for the ex-agent to have second thoughts about coming back. Saul and the CIA labeled her as a traitor when she started working for a private foundation in Berlin. The majority of season 5 saw Carrie trying to escape the reach of her former colleagues. It was too late when Saul learned that Allison (Miranda Otto) was the spy and that she had brilliantly made Carrie a scapegoat for all her crimes.

It has been previously revealed that Carrie will return to the United States and will work for a foundation dedicated to helping Muslims living in the country. Returning to the CIA is the farthest thing on her mind. If Saul wants her back, he should have a convincing story to make her agree. Carrie will be living in Brooklyn, New York with her daughter.

According to Danes, her character has matured so much after all the things that happened to her. Carrie is also against some of the principles of her former agency.

"They have diverged. There has been a split that they've been working on repairing over the course of the last couple of seasons to varying degrees of success. Saul has committed himself even more fully to the agency, and Carrie rejects some fundamental principles of it. That's very difficult to reconcile, but they are so profoundly bonded. That's something they'll never be able to rid themselves of, but she's matured to a very different place than he has," Danes said, according to Inquisitr.

Meanwhile, as per recent spoilers, Carrie has not yet severed ties with the other CIA man. Quinn (Rupert Friend) has survived his death-defying ordeal, but the experience has scarred him for life. He does not want to have anything to do with Carrie. Viewers will see a very different Quinn coming into the new installment. Because of his post-traumatic stress disorder, he will reject anyone who wants to offer help, especially Carrie.

"Homeland" season 6 airs Jan. 15 on Showtime.
