'House of Cards' season 4 spoilers: The Underwoods have some enemies on their hands with Remy Danton, Jackie Sharp

(Netflix/Facebook)

There are speculations that "House of Cards" season 4 may be delayed, but that does not stop fans from craving for information on what to expect. They would be happy to know that Frank and Claire Underwood are about to face a couple as power-hungry as they are but younger.

The season 3 finale of "House of Cards" reportedly turned off those fans who are rooting for Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright). The two separated and eventually ended their quest in rising to the top. But even so, avid viewers also know that it was something the series had to do to make the show more interesting.

In a previous interview with E! Online, showrunner Beau Willimon explained the decision, saying, "Of course, there were people who wanted to see the Underwoods kick butt in their usual fashion and have victory after victory and I'm sure it was hard for them to see the Underwoods tumble and sometimes fall. But if they didn't, they wouldn't be human, and it would make it seem like the presidency was a cakewalk, which we know it's not."

So does this mean that things will be patched up in season 4 and the two will get back together? It's unlikely, but the power couple will surely have a strategy to get back in the game. One part of this strategy might be to adopt a baby to salvage whatever good there is in their current public image.

But it will not be easy, as Willimon pointed out. Making things a bit harder for them are old enemies Remy Danton (Mahershala Ali) and Jackie Sharp (Molly Parker). The two will pair up against the husband-and-wife tandem, especially Frank. More of these old enemies are coming back to haunt the presidential hopeful.

"House of Cards" season 4 has been rumored to air in March 2016, later than the February release of the first three seasons, but the official date has yet to be confirmed by Netflix.
