The adventures of Hiccup and Toothless in the 'How To Train Your Dragon' movies are one of the most-loved animated stories of children (and adults) since the first movie was shown in 2010.

The anticipated third installment, 'How To Train Your Dragon 3,' originally announced to be released 2016, has been moved to a June 9, 2017 premiere, as revealed in a news release by DreamWorks.

"On the heels of the success of their latest epic adventure, Hiccup and Toothless have plans to soar across the big screen once again with the announcement of the third chapter in DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon series shifting to a June 9, 2017 release date," DreamWorks said in the statement.

Gaining as much as $500 million in box office sales worldwide, the movie proved to be enigmatic and entertaining, leading to a sequel that was released in June, 2014.

The sequel was equally successful, especially with the addition of the voice talents of stars such as Cate Blanchett, and Game of Thrones star, Kit Harrington.

Directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, How To Train Your Dragon tells the story of a young Viking teenager named Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) who tries to continue the legacy of his linage as a dragon slayer.
