(Facebook / Humans)Filming for "Humans" season 2 is underway and will premiere in 2017.

A week from now, the British-American science fiction series "Humans" is set to return for its highly anticipated second season. Here is what's known about season 2.

Lead actress Gemma Chan, who plays Mia, took to Twitter to announce the official premiere date of "Humans" season 2 on UK's Channel 4, which is on Oct. 30 at 9 p.m. The official Humans Twitter account also announced that it will be coming to America on AMC network sometime in February 2017.

Recently, Channel 4 released an official press statement for the upcoming season of the sci-fi series. It will pick up where the last season left off. Niska (Emily Berrington) is now in Berlin and a romantic encounter may result to unexpected consequences. Back in the UK, Leo (Colin Morgan), Max (Ivanno Jeremiah), and Mia are trying to keep themselves under the radar.

However, they still need money for supplies and to keep in touch with the human world. So, Mia disguises as Anita while working in a local café. Things may get a little more complicated as she develops special feelings for her human boss, Ed (Sam Palladio). Meanwhile, Leo and Max assist Hester (Sonya Cassidy) in her mission, but it may turn out worse when an organization is out to take them down.

At the recently concluded New York Comic-Con, stars Morgan and Chan attended the panel for the first time to promote the upcoming season. Morgan teased that Niska's power could change the course of the future.

As for Mia, Chan revealed, "I think for the first time, she is trying to figure out what her place is in the world. She's trying to assert herself, which I don't think she's ever really had the chance to do before in her life...So this is really the first time she has had the opportunity to explore the world. There are positives and negatives to that."
