'Hunter X Hunter' release date news, updates: Yoshihiro Togashi resumes work in time for early 2017 release

(Facebook/OfficialVIZMedia)"Hunter X Hunter" may be soon released as Yoshihiro Togashi is rumored to have resumed work.

"Hunter X Hunter" fans were saddened when news of the manga's delay made rounds online. However, if rumors are to be believed, then there may be good news for them after all. New reports claim that Yoshihiro Togashi is resuming work soon.

There has been talk of an early 2017 deadline being set for the manga writer. And up until now, it seemed bleak that Togashi would ever make it in time. However, according to reports, Togashi is apparently not ready to throw in the towel, despite the speculations saying that he is going to be replaced.

It can be recalled that the popular Japanese manga went into hiatus earlier this year when reports of Togashi's declining health condition became widespread. This was not the first time that Togashi's health interfered with his work. "Hunter X Hunter" only resumed publication in April this year after a long break.

Rumors of Togashi being replaced with a different writer and illustrator started circulating online recently, but none of them have been confirmed so far. "Tokyo Ghoul" creator Sui Ishida and "Sailor Moon" creator Naoko Takeuchi were two of the people speculated to take over. It should be noted that Takeuchi is also Togashi's wife. However, fans didn't agree on the decision to replace the "Hunter X Hunter" creator. Some of them thought of it as a fresh start, while others were concerned about the quality of the story.

In order to let someone else continue Togashi's work, though, Shueisha apparently tried to acquire the rights to the Japanese manga from Togashi. However, the writer reportedly rejected the action.

With Togashi expected to pick up where he left off, fans are expecting the new chapter of "Hunter X Hunter" to be released soon. However, an announcement has yet to be made, so readers are advised to take this news with a grain of salt.
