Indiana Jones is a name that is recognized around the world and is commonly associated with adventure. It's been so long since Harrison Ford graced the silver screen as the famous archaeologist-turned-adventurer Indiana Jones. And for a while, rumours of a fifth "Indiana Jones" film circled the Internet. However, all those speculations have now been confirmed to be true.

Disney announced through a press release on their website that the fifth "Indiana Jones" film will see Steven Spielberg return to the director's chair, which seems fitting since he directed the first four films. But perhaps the most exciting revelation is that Ford will once again put on the hat and boots of the famous professor.

"Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can't wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019," said The Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. "It's rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn't be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven."

The Hollywood Reporter revealed in an exclusive that David Koepp has signed on to be the upcoming film's screenwriter. Koepp is known for his work on classics like "Jurassic Park" and "War of the Worlds." He has also worked with Spielberg on numerous occasions.

Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, long-time experts in the industry, will serve as producers.

Ford, in a recent interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," expressed his excitement over bringing the character back to life. He also revealed that he is looking forward to working with Spielberg once again and making the fans happy.

Disney also revealed the official release date of the fifth "Indiana Jones" film. It is scheduled to premiere on July 19, 2019, giving the cast and crew of the film ample time to prepare. Although it has already been given the green light, the film has not been given a title yet.
