Fans of Harrison Ford should rejoice. Renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg has confirmed through an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Ford's character will not be killed off at the end of "Indiana Jones 5."

When Ford reprised his role as Han Solo in the critical and commercial hit "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the world unanimously wept when he was killed by his own son, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). And with Ford's age, fans began to worry that the same would be done to another one of his iconic characters, archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones.

Thankfully, Spielberg calmed the uproar by confirming that Indy would remain alive and well.

"The one thing I will tell you is I'm not killing off Harrison [Ford] at the end of it," he revealed, according to THR.

The Academy Award winner will be back in the director's chair. And in the same interview, Spielberg revealed that he is looking forward to the gig. He remained quiet though on other plot details about the highly anticipated movie.

A lot of people are definitely excited about the upcoming sequel, and rightfully so, since it has also been confirmed that famous composer John Williams will be returning to score the latest chapter in Indy's book of adventures. The revelation was made through the Twitter account of Access Hollywood reporter Scott Mantz.

As for what the official title of the movie is, nothing has been revealed by Disney so far, so fans have to wait until an official announcement is made. No details about the plot have been teased and it is unclear if other characters will be coming back to the sequel. One thing is for sure though: fans are definitely hoping that "Indiana Jones 5" will live up to their expectations and not follow in the footsteps of the low-performing movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

For now, fans can rest assured, knowing that their favorite explorer will be okay by the end of the film.

"Indiana Jones 5" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on July 19, 2019.
