'Injustice 2' release news: Wonder Woman, Blue Beetle officially part of the upcoming game

(Facebook/Injustice)Wonder Woman makes her way back to the "Injustice" game.

Although it was already announced at last month's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that Wonder Woman will be back for the highly anticipated sequel to the popular game "Injustice," gamers still couldn't hold their excitement when the trailer showing the Amazonian warrior princess' stint on "Injustice 2" was finally revealed at the just-concluded San Diego Comic-Con.

With the reveal of the said trailer, fans have even become more excited over the arrival of "Injustice 2," especially those who have enjoyed playing Wonder Woman in the current "Injustice" game. In the teaser, the character is seen displaying her Amazonian might and power as she battles Gorilla Grodd and Blue Beetle.

The said teaser video also shows some of the introduced changes in the costume of Wonder Woman. While the character wears a pair of leggings in the first "Injustice" game, she is now back to wearing mostly her classic short shorts costume with some elements of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman costume in the movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the upcoming "Wonder Woman." The color of her armor has also been slightly modified with the inclusion of silver in it.

Apart from Wonder Woman, Blue Beetle is another playable character in the upcoming "Injustice 2" that was introduced in the San Diego Comic-Con. Although some people were surprised by his inclusion, several fans already saw it coming as NetherRealm's creative director Ed Boon has already hinted it before after he posted a poll on his Twitter account asking his followers to choose among the list of characters he provided.

Blue Beetle was the top choice with 39 percent, which was followed by Swamp Thing and Captain Cold with 35 and 26 percent of votes, respectively.

With the confirmation of Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle's inclusion in "Injustice 2," there is no denying that the game is growing bigger and bigger as the two now join the earlier announced characters like Batman, Superman, The Flash, Supergirl, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Supergirl, and Gorilla Grodd.

More characters for "Injustice 2" are expected to be revealed soon.

"Injustice 2" is expected to hit the store shelves in 2017 and will be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
