iPhone 8 release date, specs, rumors: device to come with a completely different case made of Liquidmetal?

(Apple)The iPhone 8 will allegedly break away from the rest of the previously released installments in the series with a completely different design

Following the launch of the iPhone 7 last month, fans are now looking forward to the iPhone 8, which is expected to arrive with a whole new different look compared to the previous releases.

According to Value Walk, reports from Israel suggest that the iPhone 8 will sport an appearance which is very different from its predecessors. If this happens, fans can expect a design that goes beyond expectations, especially since it is believed that the upcoming flagship will feature improved cameras.

It is speculated that the device will sport a Liquidmetal case which could be close to artist Martin Hajek's prototype concept which he unveiled before the iPhone 6 was released. However, the said prototype was never integrated in the 6th and 7th installments of the popular smartphone series.

For starters, Liquidmetal promises a non-scratch ability, meaning owners can be guaranteed that the iPhone 8, if the technology is applied to it, will be resistant to scratches which are very common in various devices.

It is further noted that the Liquidmetal casing, also known as bulk metallic glasses (BMG), will be manufactured through 3D printing and will most likely be applied for future Apple devices such as TVs and tablets.

As for its display, it is said that the iPhone 8 will be the first Apple smartphone that will break away from the previous installments with its curved screen display. The curved screen technology is popular with Samsung phones and it seems that Apple is now ready to accept that the Samsung feature will work well for future Apple flagships.

Meanwhile, it is also speculated that the upcoming iPhone flagship will be unveiled during the iPhone series' 10th year anniversary. The iPhone 8's purported huge changes will make it worthy of being presented in the anniversary event which is set to be held sometime 2017.

Apple has not yet responded to the reports, but for now, fans should take any rumors with a grain of salt until official announcements are made.
