Reports are confirming that there will be a fourth Iron Man movie, but Robert Downey Jr. will apparently not make an appearance on the film.

Robert Downey Jr. has always been candid about the creation of Iron Man 4, though he has not really given a straight answer as to when it will be released or if he will still be in the film. Downey Jr. is busy filming the sequel for Avengers as well as a huge role in the next Captain America, which will include the Civil War story line.

According to a report by MasterHerald, Robert Downey might be replaced by a young Tony Stark in the next Iron Man movie, and it could be young actor Ty Simpkins. Simpkins will also appear in the latest Jurassic World movie alongside Chris Pratt.

In an interview, Simpkins acknowledged the possibility and said that the similarities of his character and Tony Stark are indeed obvious. Though he hasn't been confirmed as the real replacement, Simpkins did nod at the story line to which Tony Stark would go back as a teenager and re-tell the story of how Iron Man came to be.

It is unclear if Simpkins would immediately jump in the next Iron Man movie, or if he will appear in one of the Avengers film as a younger Tony Stark. The rumors for Avengers 2 are still not clear even if there is a trailer already out, so Simpkins' role could still be in negotiation.
