Fans may be waiting for the new James Bond film, "Spectre," to be released, but one thing fans would also like to hear news about is the ongoing process of finding the next 007.

According to Cinema Blend, the upcoming film is speculated to be the last fans will see of Daniel Craig playing James Bond, despite previous previous reports that the actor is tied to one more movie before leaving the role for good.

In a report from Mirror UK, Damian Lewis, from "Homeland" fame, is in the running to replace the 47-year-old Craig. While other candidates have been considered, like Adrian Lester and Idris Elba, Lewis has been given an "unofficial nod" of approval to take on the role.

Just earlier this month, Elba was reported to be one of the actors in the running to be the new James Bond, so far as going second to Damian Lewis. Elba still kept mum about his chances regarding the role when he was in the London's British Film Institute.

"If there was ever any chance of me getting Bond, it's gone," he said.

And the possible nod to Damian Lewis is the final nail in Elba's chances for James Bond.

Having the role of James Bond might not be as glamorous as everyone thinks. Earlier this month, Huffingtonpost reported that Craig had undergone an arthroscopic knee surgery in the middle of shooting the new film.

Craig isn't the only casualty in the movie, as a total of seven Aston Martin DB10s were demolished during the film, leaving only three cars after the shoot.

Speaking to Event Magazine, stunt coordinator Gary Powell said, "We set the record for smashing up cars on 'Spectre.' In Rome, we wrecked millions of pounds worth. They were going into the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. We shot one entire night for four seconds of film."

There is still no official word on who the official new James Bond will be, but fans can watch Craig as Agent 007 when "Spectre" hits cinemas on Nov. 6.
