Following the shocking and cliffhanger ending of "Jane the Virgin" season two, the biggest question that has yet to be answered is whether Michael lives on or not.

In the finale of the second installment, Susanna (Megan Ketch) shot poor Michael (Brett Dier), who had just tied the knot with the love of his life, Jane (Gina Rodriguez). It was a sad moment for fans of the couple who were expecting that the two will finally be happy after all the drama in their relationship.

According to Christian Today, Michael's fate will be unveiled in the new season. It is further expected that the first episode will immediately show what has become of the beloved character.

Dier said in a recent interview with Gold Derby that he was sad when he found out that his character will be shot. The actor did not provide any details regarding Michael's fate but it seems he will still be back in the third season.

Michael's life-or-death battle only gets more tense as series creator Jennie Snyder Urman told Entertainment Weekly last month that Jane will definitely lose her virginity this year. However, she did not say which person will take Jane's virginity oath out of the picture.

As fans know, Michael isn't the only man in Jane's life even if she already married him. Rafael (Justin Baldoni) is just around the bend and may even be waiting for the right time to woo her into his arms.

With Michael's life hanging in the balance, there have been rumors suggesting he might pass away and this will open doors for Jane and Rafael to be together. Could this mean Rafael will be the one Jane will lose her virginity to?

While Rafael could be the lucky guy, Michael's fans shouldn't lose hope since the third season has yet to show what happens to the man who stuck with Jane through thick and thin. Michael is already too precious to the series that it might be too early to take him out, especially since he has yet to spend eternity with Jane.

"Jane the Virgin" season three is slated for premiere on October 17, 2016 on The CW.
