'Jeepers Creepers 3' release date, plot rumors: film to unveil Creeper's back story?

Sixteen years after the sequel to "Jeepers Creepers" hit big screens, fans can finally see the third installment as director Victor Salva returns to the franchise that established the definition of horror into the hearts of many viewers.

There has been little to no updates from Salva himself about the movie, though it is expected that the gory Creeper's past may finally be unveiled in "Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral." There is no solid confirmation on this yet but last year, the website Bloody Disgusting published a statement from the director himself.

Part of the statement reads: "We are bringing back the Creeper's truck, and will be addressing the big questions about The Creeper: what it is, where it came from and why it does what it does."

New reports are now suggesting that Salva was teasing on the unveiling of the Creeper's layers when he said some things of the past will be tackled in the upcoming film. Most likely, the Creeper experienced a lot of pain and torture while growing up, which could have resulted to his disgusting blood lust and thirst for the death of others.

Meanwhile, production for "Jeepers Creepers 3" is said to have been delayed when The Union of British Columbia Performers warned actors to avoid the shamed director's new project. As fans know, Salva was convicted and served prison time for pedophilia and other related charges back in 1988. It seems Salva's ghosts continue to haunt him to this day.

On the other hand, some fans are still hoping that the third installment will only be delayed and not canceled. It is reported that Gina Philips, who starred in the first "Jeepers Creepers" film, will be the lead in the third movie, while Jonathan Breck is expected to reprise his iconic role as the Creeper.

"Jeepers Creepers 3" is still posted online as a film ready for release in 2017, but as of now, there is no update from production if there was a move for its premiere after the recent ruckus caused by the Union of British Columbia Performers.

Fans will have to wait for further official announcements to be made.
