'Jessica Jones' season 2 spoilers: Despite being behind bars, Kilgrave to still affect Jessica Jones

(Facebook/Jessica Jones)Jessica Jones will suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder in the season 2 of the eponymous series.

Although Netflix's "Jessica Jones" season 2 is not expected to arrive earlier than late 2017 or early 2018, it is said that the upcoming season of the series will feature Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) because of the ordeal that Kilgrave (David Tennant) put her through in the show's season 1.

According to reports, no less than "Jessica Jones" showrunner Melissa Rosenberg confirmed in an interview that the character will experience such a health disorder. To recall, even before Kilgrave arrived in Jessica Jones' life, her existence was already far from peaceful. However, the character became even more troubled and agonized upon meeting Kilgrave who abused her physically, mentally, sexually, and emotionally in the previous season.

The ordeal she experienced under Kilgrave has affected Jessica Jones considerably that, although the villain is already behind bars and paying for his wrongdoings, Jessica Jones still can't get past fully of what Kilgrave has put her through.

"And so in season two, we can explore what's possible for her moving forward... people don't just heal, you don't go through that just to say, 'Oh, he got arrested, he's in jail, I'm OK now.' That trauma is a huge part of who she is now," Rosenberg said in an interview with Esquire last month.

Now that Kilgrave is behind bars, it goes without saying that "Jessica Jones" season 2 will have a new antagonist. However, Rosenberg also hinted that the upcoming season 2 of the Marvel series may feature several villains rather than just one as it would be difficult to outdo the performance of Tennant as the big bad of the first season.

Meanwhile, in another "Jessica Jones" season 2-related news, it has just been revealed that the upcoming season of the series about the female Marvel superhero will come with 13 episodes, each of which will be helmed by different female directors.
