'Jessica Jones' season 2 spoilers: Jessica battles with a pesky scientist

(Facebook/JessicaJonesLat)Ruby Thursday may appear in the upcoming season of "Jessica Jones" season 2.

Jessica (Krysten Ritter) will face off with a scientist on a crazy mission to change the world in the upcoming season of "Jessica Jones."

As per IB Times, one of the villains that the heroine will face is Thursday Rubinstein aka Ruby Thursday, the primary antagonist in the "Hellcat" comics. Ruby was a woman of science who thought of replacing her head with organic circuitry. When society mocked her for doing so, she started to lead a life of crime. She planned to get revenge by changing her victim's head with circuitry, just like hers. In her head, the world would rue the day it turned its back on her. Her head, which contains offensive and defensive capabilities, was her main weapon.

If Jessica is indeed fighting the deranged doctor, it will be interesting to see how she will fare. It is possible that she will feel some empathy for Ruby, since they are both victims of the unfairness of society. However, she cannot deny that the villain is a huge threat who must be defeated.

Aside from Ruby, other foes rumored to appear in season 2 are Jigsaw and Nuke. Jigsaw is one of The Punisher's (Jon Bernthal) minions. Nuke, formerly Will Simpson (Wil Traval), on the other hand, is expected to return and continue his fight with Jessica.

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that Luke Cage (Mike Colter) will appear in the next installment to reignite his romance with Jessica. The pair will first reunite in "The Defenders" scheduled to air in 2017, where they will be joined by Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Executive producer Melissa Rosenberg recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the Luke rumor. She admitted that she has not yet talked to Cheo Coker, the showrunner of "Luke Cage," about the crossover.

"This is what happens when you're a showrunner: You just get so freaking busy. But we pass each other in the hall all the time and say hello. But I also have, in my second season, one of the writers on Luke Cage, so in terms of moving forward with what has happened in Luke's story, with season two — not that that's as relevant to Jessica's story this season. But it's all connected, and it's all very important. So Cheo and I haven't had a lot of face time, but we've passed each other in this," Rosenberg shared with THR.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is expected to return in 2018.
