Jessica (Krysten Ritter) may team up with an iconic Marvel superhero in the upcoming season of "Jessica Jones." Is it time for Daredevil to show up in the other Netflix series?

Previously, speculations were rife that Jon Bernthal's The Punisher would be one of the villains to fight Jessica in the new installment. Frank Castle, the twisted antagonist in the "Daredevil" series, may be joining Will Simpson (Wil Traval) and the IGH in making the heroine's life more difficult. It has been previously announced that The Punisher will be getting his own solo series. If he indeed turns up in Jessica's turf, fans are wondering if he will inadvertently bring with him Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock.

Murdock and Castle are each other's greatest nemesis. As per Game N Guide, it is possible that the former will follow the villain and stop him from destroying Jessica's world. A crossover between "Jessica Jones" and "Daredevil" will be something for the fans to look forward to. This may even pave the way for the reunion of The Defenders. Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) may also show up, completing the lineup.

The possibility of a crossover among the Marvel shows has been a topic in online discussions by fans. "The Defenders" will actually air before "Jessica Jones" in 2017.

Executive producer Melissa Rosenberg previously told Entertainment Weekly that she and the series' showrunners are in close contact to discuss the different storylines. She said Marvel is all about collaboration.

"My colleagues Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie, who are doing Defenders, they've shared material. We've sat down for many conversations about what are they doing, what's happening with Jessica? They want my input, they want all the different showrunners' input on the characters that they're most familiar with. Marvel was very smart in hiring those guys, because they're really collaborative," the EP shared.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is expected to return in 2018.
