'Jessica Jones' season 2 spoilers, plot: Trish Walker's past to be explored

(Facebook / Marvel's Jessica Jones)"Jessica JOnes" season 2 will be back on Netflix, but viewers may stream the first season on Netflix while waiting.

The relationship between adoptive sisters Jessica Jones and Trish Walker has been central to the plot of "Jessica Jones." In season 2, more of Trish's past will be explored and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg says she wants to add more characters.

Actress Rachael Taylor, who plays Trish in the series, expressed excitement over the development as well. In an interview with ET Online, she said, "I think there's so many layers to this character. One of the things I'm really looking forward to, aside from all of the potential marital arts or athleticism, is seeing her relationship with her mother unfold a little bit more."

Actress Krysten Ritter, who plays the titular role, also said that she thinks the dynamics between two sisters is one of the most exciting parts of the show. She said, "At the heart of it, that's really what it's about. It's about that relationship with her very best friend, her sister. I just loved how honest and real it was."

Meanwhile, Rosenberg revealed in an interview with Deadline the reason why she wants to bring in more characters in season 2. She said, "I think one of the things I would be able to do now, that's harder to do in the first season, is to really expand on the ensemble. Poor Krysten Ritter, she was in every scene that we shot, we beat the crap out of her. She was a shell of a human being by the time we ended, and that is not sustainable. But when you have a show that's called 'Jessica Jones,' if Jessica Jones isn't in a scene the rest of it become almost irrelevant until you earn other character storylines. You've got to flesh out those characters enough that you can travel."

"Jessica Jones" has been nominated for several awards despite having aired only a season. The series is being praised for its storyline, as well its assembly of actors. Among the nominations are TCA Award for Outstanding New Program, Empire Award for Best TV Series, Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, and Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Design.
