'Jessica Jones' season 2 spoilers: second season not likely for reasons of logistics; Character seen next in 'The Defenders'

Almost immediately after it started streaming "Jessica Jones," viewers have started asking Netflix the inevitable question of when the show's second season will be released. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a while for that to happen.

While viewers are clamouring for a second helping of the ground breaking web series, "Jessica Jones'" executive producer Melissa Rosenberg admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that she's not sure if Marvel will be amenable to it and pointed out the logistics of having to shoot "The Defenders," the upcoming Luke Cage and Iron Fist series and the second season of "Daredevil."

But fans are not giving up hope, especially with Krysten Ritter's vague replies about the show coming back for a second season. Ritter, who portrayed the PTSD suffering Jones, also talked to THR and hinted that she's not supposed to talk about that. However, the actress thinks there's still a lot of stories to tell about Jessica and admits that she loves the character so much she would "throw on her boots and leather jacket anytime."

Of course, the decision on whether "Jessica Jones" will be getting a second season rests in Marvel's hands. But fans are looking at the glass half full and are taking Ritter's evasiveness to mean that that option is open.

But fans will still see Jones, even if it's not in her own series, as the character is set to join "The Defenders." Ritter, while excited to be part of the upcoming show, has admitted that she's curious as to what would make her character go back to being a superhero since she doesn't like being one.

However, Ritter has complete confidence in Marvel and Netflix and how the two units will bring about the story. The actress also admitted in the interview that Jones does have "this innate goodness in her whether she likes it or not," so that might make her reconsider her previous decision to stop being a superhero.

"Jessica Jones" is now available on Netflix.
