'John Wick: Chapter 2' news: Keanu Reeves talks about new film

(Warner Bros.)Keanu Reeves reprises his role as John Wick in an upcoming movie.

Blockbuster actor Keanu Reeves attended the recently held CinemaCon Awards in Las Vegas where he was in attendance to promote the sequel to his 2014 film, "John Wick: Chapter 2." A trailer teaser of the movie was shown during the ceremonies and the actor shared, "We have a little bit left to do."

Collider caught up with him, and when asked about the things that needed to be done yet, he said, "It's like pick-ups and a little … like connectives of … yeah … we ran into Christmas … it's a long story but it's just a little bit left."

Reeves remains one of the most iconic names in the industry, despite shying away from the limelight. He is best known for his role as Neo in the movie series "Matrix," but his other movie character John Wick has been synonymous to great action movies as well.

The movie is about a hitman who was forced out of retirement to avenge the brutal murder of his dog. The dog is extra special to John because it was a gift from his deceased wife to help him cope with the loss. The dog was killed when he refused to sell his vintage car to the son of his former employer. In the process, he was forced to re-enter the world of the assassins.

The second movie will see John working with a former associate who he was bound by a blood of oath to help at any given day and time. The associate wants control of an international assassins' guild and John goes to Rome where he encounters some of the world's deadliest killers.

Reeves shared that in the second movie, "Some of John's past will come back and he needs John Wick." He also said that the sequel picks right off from the previous movie. Reeves also revealed that there could be more sequels coming up.

"John Wick: Chapter 2" will be released on Feb. 16, 2017.
