After being a box office hit in 2015, it was expected that "Jurassic World" will get a sequel, and it did. Filming is underway, but details about what's going to happen in "Jurassic World 2" are pretty much kept under wraps.

After the newest hybrid, Indominus-Rex, brought chaos to the theme park populated by tourists and then later getting defeated by the ancient T-Rex, it's difficult to imagine what else could the sequel offer.

Nonetheless, it was director Colin Trevorrow himself who hinted what "Jurassic World" will be like. Speaking to WIRED, the director said, "[It will not be] just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island," adding that this plot gets old easily.

Now, speculations are rife that the next movie will feature a war between dinosaurs, particularly with the big reptiles now being weaponized. In "Jurassic World," Vincent D'Onofrio's character, Vic Hoskins, was determined to make weapons out of Owen's (Chris Pratt) raptors.

This idea is also likely to be explored as also hinted by Trevorrow.

"I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment," Trevorrow told Wired.

"And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it and later on we found it could be used for energy," he added.

Meanwhile, more changes are expected from the sequel. Bryce Dallas Howard, who played the career-driven Claire, will be different in the next movie. The actress told E! Online that hopefully, Claire will no longer be in heels in the next movie.

There were also rumors that Howard's character will be the next movie's lead character as she's the one who underwent a major change following the catastrophe at the theme park.

It's too early to tell what "Jurassic World 2" has in store for all its viewers. More updates are expected to pop up soon. "Jurassic World 2" is scheduled to arrive to cinemas on June 22, 2018.
