Although news on "Jurassic World 2" is scarce, thanks to the verbal-communication-only policy employed by the production, the rumor claiming that the upcoming movie will feature armed dinosaurs is growing louder and louder.

For Digital Spy, it is likely that the upcoming sequel to the 2015 hit is headed to the direction of the wars among dinosaurs, and it will be titled "Jurassic War." The online publication believes that Vic Hoskins' (Vincent D'Onofrio) push for the raptors to be used as weapons for war in the first movie may finally happen in the sequel, much more that "Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow once said that the theme of having dinosaurs running after people in a park is passé.

While it is true that "Jurassic World 2" will no longer be helmed by Trevorrow but by J.A. Bayona, the former will still be involved in the sequel in more ways than one. In an interview with the Playlist recently, Trevorrow issued a statement that only bolstered the belief of some that "Jurassic World 2" will, indeed, feature dinosaurs with weapons.

"We're moving it into new territory. J.A. Bayona is an incredible director and I know he'll push the boundaries of what a 'Jurassic' movie is. I think it's important that we take risks. A franchise must evolve or perish," Trevorrow told the Playlist.

However, the theory that "Jurassic World 2" will have weaponized dinosaurs is not new. According to a report of MTV in June last year, the script for the upcoming sequel may actually have been lifted from the supposed "Jurassic Park 4" written in 2007, which will involve crime-fighting dinosaurs. This elite group of armed dinosaurs will, allegedly, be deployed to contain crimes and deal with drug dealers.

Exciting as the plot for "Jurassic World 2" may sound, sad to say, the details are nothing but pieces of unconfirmed information at this point in time, and their veracity will only be proven once the movie arrives in theaters on June 22, 2018.

Meanwhile, reports claim that "Jurassic World 2" is already in its pre-production stage and has a working title of "Jurassic World: Ancient Futures."
