'Justice League' release date, news: Zack Snyder shares Wonder Woman photo

(Facebook/justiceleagueofficial)"Justice League" will hit theaters on Nov. 10, 2017.

A new photo of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) from the upcoming superhero ensemble film "Justice League" has been released online. Director Zack Snyder took to his Twitter handle to post the image of the Amazonian princess in action.

Filming for "Justice League" concluded earlier this month, which means the movie is now in its post-production phase. It won't be too long now before fans get a taste of teaser images and trailers. "Game of Thrones" alum Jason Mamoa, who plays Aquaman, shared photos of himself on Instagram with other cast and crew members, celebrating the end of shooting.

Not a lot of details have been uncovered about the upcoming film, but fans are undoubtedly excited to see DC's version of a superhero ensemble film. It's been a long time coming, but it's finally happening.

The story of the film will see Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) joining forces with Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, to employ the help of other superheroes, in order to defeat a new enemy. It takes place after the events of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which ended with Superman (Henry Cavill) sacrificing his life for the greater good, in true Superman form.

Bruce and Diana will enlist Aquaman, Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) in an effort to put a stop to the threat — forming the Justice League of America. But the menace will prove to be challenging for the heroes to take down and it may be far too late in the stage to save the world as they know it.

Snyder released Wonder Woman's photo online in honor of the superhero being dubbed as an Honorary UN Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls. The iconic female first appeared in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," and is set to star in her own film, "Wonder Woman," scheduled to premiere on June 1, 2017.

"Justice League" is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 10, 2017.
