Fans of Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are in for a disappointment as the much awaited album collaboration will not come out this month after all.

Although there have been rumors about the project, there are a lot of complications and speculations as to why it is impossible to bring the two together.

J. Cole announced the collaborative project at a musical event earlier, saying that it is certainly going to come since they already have a lot of songs in the album.

However, there have been reports that a lot of artists are also joining in the collaboration. According to a report from Morning News USA, Prince might be one of them. Prince reportedly had heard the record and discussed the album with Kendrick.

However, Kendrick also said that they were so engrossed in the discussion that they forgot to record anything at all. So there are still lots of speculations on whether or not Kendrick will invite Prince again to join.

Another artist who is rumored to take part in the Kendrick–Cole collaboration is Drake, according to a report from Youth Health Mag. There's even a possibility that Drake will take the place of one of the rappers.

DJ Booth, on the other hand, reports that a collaboration between Cole and Kendrick is a bad idea because the two might be incompatible as artists. The report further says that Lamar and Cole have two different styles and putting these two styles in one album can result in a disaster.

Another reason why the album might not push through is that both artists are also busy with their own projects. J. Cole, for example, is scheduled to go on a tour with Drake.

In a report on Rap Up, Ebro Darden of the Hot 97 fame said, "There's a rumor that I heard that there's gonna be an announcement this week of a Drake and J. Cole summer tour."

If this happens, then Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole fans have to wait much longer than February before they see the realization of that collaborative project.
