ABC may have failed to secure Caitlyn Jenner a slot in their celebrity dance competition, "Dancing with the Stars," but it seems like another member of her family will be making an appearance. Word on the grapevine is that Khloe Kardashian might be one of the celebrities on board for the show's upcoming season.

There are still some slots to be filled for the dance competition and since Jenner has previously squashed rumors that she will be filling in one of those slots, rumors now say that former stepdaughter, Khloe, will be the one to compete.

If the rumors prove to be, Khloe will be the third Kardashian to vie for the Mirror Ball trophy. Elder sister, Kim, appeared in the show's second season in 2008, while Rob placed second in the 13th season last 2011.

Khloe, as many might already know, is not new to the limelight. She had made quite a few appearances in reality shows, like the Kardashian-based "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." The show led to some spin-offs featuring her and other members of the family including "Kourtney and Khloe" with her elder sister, Kourtney, and "Khloe and Lamar" with ex-husband, Lamar Odom.

"Dancing with the Stars" started airing in 2005 and is roughly based on the British show "Strictly Come Dancing." Contestant pairs compete with each other, with each pair consisting of a celebrity and a professional dancer.

Each week, a pair is eliminated based on the judges' scores and North American votes. There are currently four judges: Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough, and Len Goodman. Winners of the previous seasons include Donny Osmond, Nicole Scherzinger, and Amber Riley.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer Willis, paired with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, won last season.

Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews are returning to host the show. "Dancing with the Stars" will return for its 21st season this Sept. 21.
