KickassTorrents latest news: Mirror domains of torrent site scam users

While it's true that various KickassTorrents (KAT) mirror domains have surfaced after the said torrenting site unexpectedly shut down last month, people who are fond of illegal downloads are cautioned not to be baited into using the KAT clones.
It has been learned that many KAT mirrors and alternatives have mushroomed after the main KAT site was shut down last month. According to reports, this was even confirmed by the alleged owner of KAT, Artem Vaulin, who is said to be currently facing legal charges in the United States.
Although Vaulin hinted that the main KAT site may still be working secretly, reports claim that its mirror or clone sites are not really working but are just scamming users by using the credit card details that they enter. With this, those who can't avoid resorting to illegal downloads of movies, music, TV series and more are advised to use other torrenting sites in the meantime.
With the unexpected shutdown of KAT, there is no denying that it is The Pirate Bay that benefits the most, reclaiming its throne as the King of Torrents. However, The Pirate Bay is also not spared from rumors after rising to the top once again as there are stories spreading that it has been shut down, too. However, the torrenting site is still pretty much in existence as of this writing.
Meanwhile, it is suspected that the shutdown of the KAT may just be temporary and the torrenting site may be back soon with a different domain. Reportedly, Kat.cr and Kickass.cr, which are linked to the main KAT site, are up for sale in the SEDO. With this, it is now speculated that the torrenting site may soon be back and registered with possibly a Costa Rican domain.
For the time being, though, with the mirror or clone domains of KAT accused of just scamming the users, pirates are advised to use The Pirate Bay until the new KAT returns.
