The synopsis has been revealed for the upcoming episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and it will involve a visit from Charles Patton in New York City.

In the next episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit entitled "Forgiving Rollins," Atlanta Deputy Chief Charles Patton (Henry Hamlin) will visit New York to attend a conference about law enforcement. Patton was first introduced in the episode called "Pattern Seventeen," and what happens in the next episode will probably involve a lot of denying by the character of the rape he has been charged with. Reese Taymor (Dreama Walker) will be with Patton since she is the newest detective in Atlanta.

In the next episode, Reese will be found in her hotel bathroom, unconscious and hurt. Reese will then claim that she has been sexually abused in her hotel. Sgt. Benson (Mariska Hartigay) arrives to assist her, but Reese's story suddenly changes this time.

Rollins will then reveal that there is a connection to the suspect. ADA Barba (Raul Esperza) then asks Rollins to see past through her troubles and demons so that the suspect will be put in jail.

Atlanta Deputy Charles Patton is the alleged suspect, and when he is called to the stand, he will deny raping or sexually abusing anyone. The promo for the next episode does not reveal who the team thinks the suspect is, but the video that shows Patton being tried points to this conclusion.

The last episode of Law and Order showed how uneasy Rollins was around Patton when she visited Atlanta. Patton then said that he would like to have a drink with Rollins when he visits New York and said that he will "never take no for an answer." This shows the persuasive personality of Patton, and this could put him in a very tight position.

In a script leak that was posted by Law & Order showrunner Warren Leight, Fin asks Rollins about her dark past with Patton. Rollins reveals that he was Patton's "blonde protégé. The good girl." As if that wasn't enough, Rollins is seen in the promo mumbling the words "he raped me."
